{"id":4945,"date":"2020-04-06T14:21:24","date_gmt":"2020-04-06T18:21:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/amyotgelinas.com\/latest-updates-on-sales-and-other-indirect-taxes\/"},"modified":"2020-04-06T14:21:24","modified_gmt":"2020-04-06T18:21:24","slug":"latest-updates-on-sales-and-other-indirect-taxes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/amyotgelinas.com\/en\/latest-updates-on-sales-and-other-indirect-taxes\/","title":{"rendered":"Latest updates on sales and other indirect taxes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Amyot G\u00e9linas S.E.N.C.R.L. would like to provide you with the latest information from the tax authorities regarding sales taxes and other indirect taxes in Quebec.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>  TAX REGISTRANT, OBLIGATIONS AND ADVICE :<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>You must file your tax returns by the usual deadlines<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Pay net taxes as soon as possible or no later than June 30, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here are the measurements:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Measure applies only to net tax payments<\/li>\n<li>The payment deadline has been extended to June 30, 2020, without penalty and interest.<\/li>\n<li>Applies to all declarations to be filed between March 27 and June 1, 2020<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<table width=\"414\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"122\"><strong>Frequency<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"292\"><strong>Authorized tax deferral period to June 30, 2020 for GST\/HST and QST<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"122\"><strong>Monthly<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"292\">The following reporting periods :<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">  February 2020<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">  March 2020<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">  April 2020<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"122\"><strong>Quarterly<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"292\">Any quarter ending in :<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">  February 2020<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">  March 2020<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">  April 2020<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"122\"><strong>Annual<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"292\">Any annual return for which taxes are due or payable in :<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">  March 2020<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">  April 2020<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">  May 2020<\/p>\n<p><strong>And all GST\/HST and QST instalments due in March, April or May 2020<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><strong>No relaxation or postponement of <\/strong>the deadline for <u>PRODUCTION OF<\/u> TAX <u>RETURNS<\/u>.<\/p>\n<p>Instead, Revenu Qu\u00e9bec has announced an administrative flexibility measure for tax returns not filed within the statutory deadlines.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Administrative flexibility = &#8220;Means&#8221; that the Minister accepts that tax returns be filed later than the usual deadline or due date.<\/li>\n<li>There will be no penalty for late production.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The tax deferral measure does not apply to other Quebec taxes, such as :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Lodging tax<\/li>\n<li>Tax on alcoholic beverages<\/li>\n<li>Insurance premium tax<\/li>\n<li>Fuel tax<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Please note that you have permission to defer, until June 1, 2020 at the latest, any Quebec fuel tax rebate application due between March 17 and May 31, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>OTHER ADMINISTRATIVE MEASURES :  <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accelerated processing of tax refunds<\/li>\n<li>Suspension of audit activities, unless there is a risk of fraud or unless required to process a tax refund<\/li>\n<li>Suspension of collection measures<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amyot G\u00e9linas S.E.N.C.R.L. would like to provide you with the latest information from the tax authorities regarding sales taxes and other indirect taxes in Quebec. &nbsp;
