To facilitate the management of these requests, we have designated specific days to make your request. Please follow the instructions below:  <\/p>\n<div class=\"table-responsive\">\n<table id=\"response\" class=\"table-bordered table\">\n<caption class=\"wb-inv\">Day to apply for the Canada Emergency Benefit<\/caption>\n<thead>\n<tr>\n<th scope=\"col\">If you were born in<\/th>\n<th scope=\"col\">Apply for an ECP on<\/th>\n<th scope=\"col\">The best day to apply<\/th>\n<\/tr>\n<\/thead>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td>January, February or March<\/td>\n<td>Mondays<\/td>\n<td>April 6th<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>April, May or June<\/td>\n<td>Tuesdays<\/td>\n<td>April 7th<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>July, August or September<\/td>\n<td>Wednesdays<\/td>\n<td>April 8th<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>October, November or December<\/td>\n<td>Thursdays<\/td>\n<td>April 9th<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td>Every month<\/td>\n<td>Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays<\/td>\n<td><span class=\"wb-inv\">Not applicable<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<dl class=\"dl-horizontal brdr-0\">\n<dt id=\"apply-online\">If you qualify for ECP, you will receive $2,000 ($500 per week) for a 4-week period.<\/dt>\n<\/dl>\n<\/section>\n<section>This is a single payment for a 4-week period; if your situation continues, you can send further requests for several 4-week periods, up to a maximum of 16 weeks (4 periods).<\/p>\n<div class=\"experimental\">\n<div class=\"alert alert-info\">\n<p><strong>Note: <\/strong> These benefits are taxable and you will need to report all payments received on next year&#8217;s tax return. An information slip will be available for the 2020 tax year in My Account, under Income Tax Information Slips (T4 and over). <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Understanding payment periods<\/h3>\n<p>Each Canada Emergency Benefit (CEP) payment covers a 4-week period, with the first period beginning March 15, 2020. When you apply, it&#8217;s a one-time payment covering a 4-week period. If your situation continues, you can apply for another 4-week period, up to a maximum of 16 weeks (i.e. 4 periods in total).  <\/p>\n<h3>What are the payment methods?<\/h3>\n<p>The ECP will be paid by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/fr\/agence-revenu\/services\/a-propos-agence-revenu-canada-arc\/depot-direct.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">direct deposit <\/a>, or by cheque if no direct deposit information is on your file.<\/p>\n<h3>When to expect payment<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>If the benefit is paid to you by direct deposit, you should receive it within 3 business days of the date you applied.<\/li>\n<li>If the benefit is paid to you by cheque, you should receive it within 10 working days of the date on which you made your claim.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Reapply every 4 weeks<\/h3>\n<p>You&#8217;ll need to apply and confirm your eligibility for the Canada Emergency Benefit (CEP) every 4 weeks if your situation continues.<\/p>\n<\/section>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"pagedetails \">\n<div class=\"row\">\n<div class=\"col-sm-4 col-md-3 col-sm-offset-2 col-md-offset-4 col-lg-offset-5\">\n<div id=\"wb-auto-7\" class=\"wb-share wb-init wb-share-inited\" data-wb-share=\"{\"lnkClass\": \"btn btn-default btn-block\"}\">We invite you to watch for regular updates<a href=\"https:\/\/www.canada.ca\/fr\/agence-revenu\/services\/prestations\/faire-demande-pcu-aupres-arc.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\"> here <\/a> <\/div>\n<div class=\"wb-share wb-init wb-share-inited\" data-wb-share=\"{\"lnkClass\": \"btn btn-default btn-block\"}\">(source: Government of Canada)<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Applications for the Canada Emergency Benefit (CEP) can begin the week of Monday, April 6, 2020.There are 2 ways to apply: Online in My CRA file By phone using an automated telephone service 1-800-959-2019 Choose the right day of the week to apply when the system is available.
