Québec government enhances Canada’s emergency assistance for commercial rent

On June 8, the Quebec government announced a $140 million enhancement to the Canadian Emergency Commercial Rental Assistance (CECRA) program for Quebec commercial property owners. Thanks to this measure, landlords who had to commit to absorbing a 25% loss when registering for the program will now receive an amount equivalent to 12.5% of the total cost of rent, reducing their loss by half.

The Quebec government has reached an agreement with the federal government to streamline the application process for Quebec commercial property owners.

Owners of Quebec properties who have already applied to the AUCLC are eligible for this measure. Details of the rebate will be announced shortly. Keep an eye on the Ministère’s website for the latest updates.

Commercial building owners in all regions of Quebec who meet the eligibility criteria and wish to obtain the AUCLC, and thus the Quebec bonus, are invited to submit an application now.
