Lodging tax relief measures

As part of the measures taken by the Quebec government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was recently announced that further relief measures would be introduced for the lodging tax.

Indeed, as of April 9, 2020, the Quebec government has issued an information bulletin in which it allows an extension of the deadline for filing the lodging tax return and the related remittance.

This postponement applies to the first quarter of 2020, i.e. the period from January 2020 to March 2020, which must normally be filed by April 30. Consequently, it is possible to postpone filing and payment of the lodging tax until until July 31, 2020.

Despite this relief measure, we still suggest that our customers file and pay their returns as soon as possible, if they are able to do so.
