Update: New Canada Emergency Rental Grant (CERG) program

NEW

• Offered directly to tenants.

• Until June 2021.

• The program would support businesses, charities and non-profits that have suffered a drop in revenue by subsidizing a percentage of their rents, on a sliding scale, up to 65% of eligible expenses until December 19, 2020.

• A top-up grant to SUCL at the rate of 25% for organizations that have had to close their doors temporarily due to a mandatory public health order (in addition to the grant at the rate of 65%).

• More details will be announced in the coming weeks, including the interaction between this program and the provincial AERAM program.
