GST/HST and QST returns in electronic format only!

GST/QST and VAT returns, tax assistance for entrepreneurs, Quebec tax management, tax services for SMEs, tax optimization in Quebec.

As of January 1, 2024, GST/HST and QST returns can no longer be filed on paper.

All sales tax registrants, with the exception of charities, are now required to file their tax returns electronically. They can do so through their financial institutions or by using the Revenu Québec website.

It is important to note that Revenu Québec can impose penalties on anyone who fails to comply with the electronic filing requirement.

In addition, as of January 1, 2024, the threshold for amounts to be paid electronically has been lowered from $50,000 to $10,000. This means that all GST/HST and QST payments must be made via a financial institution’s electronic platform. Failure to comply with this new requirement could result in a penalty.

Our recommendation

We recommend that you quickly request access to Mon dossier pour les entreprises directly from the Revenu Québec website. It is also possible to program the option of filing a tax return through your financial institution.
