Quebec budget: “For a strong Quebec”.
On March 25, 2025, Finance Minister Éric Girard tabled his budget plan for 2025-2026, aimed at strengthening the economy. Investments totaling $12.3 billion over the next five years were announced.
The most important of these are aimed at stimulating wealth creation, supporting Quebecers, and increasing theinnovative capacityof businesses.
The budget also includes measures to improve the tax system, representing nearly $3 billion over five years.
Measures will be put in place in the short term to support businesses, notably by granting financial aid in the form of loans, thus offering transitional assistance to companies affected by the US tariffs.
In the current economic context, marked by uncertainties surrounding tariffs and trade relations with the United States, the government has chosen to maintain the objective of returning to balanced budgets gradually, by 2029-2030 at the latest.
